Topic: Deactivating power manager

Hi. I have noticed that airdump-ng stops working when disconnecting the powercord from the notebook. Does anybody know what can be wrong? It would be much better if I could use it running just on battery. I tried diferent settings in the GUI manager (KDE4.2 on OpenSUSE 11.1), but with no success. The card I use is Intel 3945.

– the program airodump-ng captures packets only when the notebook is connected to power adaptor, but not when runing on battery power (not affected by battery being fully charged) – that’s why I suspect it has to do with Power Management. I’d like to know following:
1) Is my suspicion is correct?
2) how to work it around so I can capture data on battery power (cannot capture even with Wireshark)

Thank You

Re: Deactivating power manager

I guess Suse just doesn’t work with this.

I found that in Backtrack, the noacpi cheat entered before boot solves it. It turns off the Advanced Configuration and Power Interface. Charging and stuff will keep working anyway.
